Our Story

WHO WE ARE

Warren Road Church (WRC) is a Free Methodist church located in Westland, Michigan. WRC is a group of people, who simply believe God’s ways are the best ways to live. The folks of WRC aim to reflect Jesus’ kindness, care, compassion, grace, and love to everyone we come in contact with. Anything else, is back burner for us. That’s our story

WHERE WE COME FROM

Our story starts in the year 1922, Arley W. Downer was the supply pastor of the Redford Free Methodist Church, he personally purchased an old frame church, (Presbyterian Church) for the amount of $700. He began to conduct Sunday afternoon services in the building and started some cottage prayer meetings in the Garden City area.
In 1929, the church became Nankin Township Free Methodist Church, and the church building itself was relocated to Inkster Road and Beechwood, where it remained until 1956. The church moved locations a few more times until finding our current home in Westland, MI

WHERE WE’RE GOING

What’s the bottom line? More than ever, Warren Road Church  is called  to invite people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  We will emulate Jesus by following his missional example being sent outward to live missionally in our personal spheres of influence. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.
