Moving Into Phase 4
It is with hopeful anticipation that I share with you this morning that with the approval of your Lead Team and our Conference Leadership, we plan to reopen our building for in-person worship on Sunday, July 5th!
We are strongly encouraged by our local and state numbers here in Michigan. However, we are aware that this is not the case in all regions of the nation, as several states are seeing spikes in cases. While we feel that it is safe to begin re-gathering for in person worship beginning Sunday, July 5th, the COVID-19 pandemic is not over.
With that in mind, we have a plan and are laying out some guidelines for returning to in-person worship gatherings. You can click HERE to follow a link to a document on our website titled: Attendee Guidelines for Re-Gathering in the Church Building.
The guidelines are broken into 5 sections—what is expected for: Parking & Greeting, Entering the Building, Worship Services, Dismissal, and Amenities. All of these guidelines are our best thoughts and plans at this point.
We ask that prior to you returning to in-person worship, you read this document in its entirety so that you know what to expect as things will look and feel different for a while. We ask that you graciously adhere to these guidelines, even if you do not agree with all of them. Let us each do our part to make sure we can continue moving forward with our re-gathering plans. None of us want to have to take steps backwards.
Even as we move to Phase 4 on Sunday July 5th, we still strongly recommend Vulnerable Populations (as defined by the CDC) to continue to worship with us from home.
Also, we completely understand if anyone does not feel comfortable returning for in person worship as soon as July 5th. We will continue to stream our services in their entirety on our website and on our Facebook page.
The week of July 5th, we will be releasing a video that will be a virtual tour of what you can expect from pulling in a parking spot all the way through the time you leave. So stay tuned for that, and in the meantime, check out the guidelines for returning on our website. We’ve missed you, I’ve missed worshipping with you in person, and let’s all continue to pray that we can move forward with entering Phase 4 on Sunday July 5th.
